PPM 2024 EVENT

2023 presented the Plastic Surgery world with unprecedented, seemingly insurmountable challenges. But despite everything, we’re still standing; we’ve survived, and now we must thrive in this new, constantly shifting world.

As Practice Managers, our role is to direct, guide and manage priorities every day. But we’re not superheroes and we can’t take on everything at once, so this year’s PPM workshop will be focused on building up, delegating and inspiring the leaders in your team.

We will also address the changes to compliance in both Surgical and Non-Surgical by AHPRA, learn from practices around the country as they share their way of managing the patient experience, and introduce you and your practice to tools and resources to help you adapt to this new world.
Designed to strengthen and build resilience in your team and practice, the 2024 PPM workshop will take place over three days jam-packed with insight and knowledge.

The 2024 PPM Workshop will take place from the 17th to the 19th May at the Langham Hotel in Southbank, Melbourne.

PPM 2023 EVENT
Highlights

Following on from the very successful 2022 PPM workshop, the 2023 PPM program was even bigger and better, designed to offer guidance, practical advice and risk management tools to assist in delivering gold standard care in a Plastic Surgery Clinic.

The PPM Workshop was open to Practice Managers and their teams. As compliance is fast becoming a significant factor of running a practice, the theme of the 2023 PPM workshop is “Standing Strong”. The workshop addressed the latest directives from Medicare, regulatory bodies, advertising guidelines, testimonials, patient rights, privacy and the protection of patient data. Aside from compliance information, the weekend was full of professional panels, insights, tips and tricks to help attendees run their practices and deliver excellent patient care.

Following on from the very successful 2019 PPM workshop at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (2019 PSC). Highlights

        (31 May - 1 June, MELBOURNE)

Welcome to the 2019 workshop and the first co-joined event since the PPM merged with the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) membership services. We are delighted you have taken the time to step out of the practice and once again invest in you.

The last twelve months has been the most challenging time in Plastic surgery history as the rules on which we have practiced for many years have started to move and change. We have seen changes to Medicare, the Private Health Insurance system, governance and digital arena we are required to work in. Many practices are bowing under the heavy weight of change. The new buzz word in business is VOCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous). VOCA sums up the playing field of all businesses, including Plastic Surgery.

The workshop will provide you with leadership insight and strategies, giving you clarity and practical advice and techniques which you can immediately apply to your practices. We then focus on the changes, updating and informing you of the current and predicted future of our Health Care System. Our presenters will provide an overview of changes and the best way to manage these in your practices. In our panel sessions you will have the opportunity to ask questions, discuss the issues you are facing in your practice, share ideas how you are managing the changes and network with our presenters.

        PPM 2017 EVENT
        Highlights

Located in the beautiful Sofitel Hotel in the heart of Melbourne, the PPM 2017 Workshop theme was “Working Smarter, Not Harder”.

With the increasing burden of trying to do more for less, it is essential that teams understand how to achieve better outcomes with limited resources. We developed an industry specific program providing strategies and techniques to empower your team to work together and deliver a more efficient and superior patient experience.

In response to your feedback, we changed the format and extended the program offering our Practice Managers a very special day addressing what has been titled our major challenge - Human Resources. This dedicated day was a closed room for our Practice Managers only to learn from one of the industry’s leading Recruitment and Talent Management Specialist.

The first in a three-year plan of workshops, Friday morning focused on the acquisition of staff and the vital skill of interviewing and staff selection. Friday afternoon we heard from Employsure educating us in the very important aspect of the rights and responsibilities of both the Employer and the Employee. We know these two aspects are intrinsically linked, get it wrong in one means you’ve got it wrong in both, which is ultimately a huge cost against your business. This one-off workshop was developed to give our Practice Managers practical strategies, tools and training specific to our practices, in this very challenging aspect of our positions.

The Saturday and Sunday program was open to all members of your team. We were delighted to secure Claire Madden from Hello Clarity to deliver our Keynote Address. Claire is a social researcher, media commentator she is in demand for her skill in effectively identifying the emerging trends and assisting business leaders to strategically respond to them. Claire is a dynamic presenter who introduced us to the next generation of our patients and what we need to do to prepare our practices for them.

The hands-on workshop presented by Wisdom Learning delivered an interactive and fun approach to the way we approach our days, how do we do more, how do we manage our time and tasks to get the best outcome for ourselves, our teams and our practices.

This along with our very popular sessions of Top Tips and Cyber Tours the workshop ensured an informative and very productive workshop is store for all.
